Q. There is this project manager that came to my house and he offered to do both roofing and changing the aircondition for 25 grand. His company is called liberty construction and I am not sure if they will do a good job because i dont really know that much about his company's history and i dont want to just spend 25 grand just like that. Please help. He also called later and said that 25 grand wont be a choice anymore unless i sign a contract right away and the minimum i can pay is 32 grand. So what should i do? For the following reasons: 1) Anyone who wants to rush you and get a signature 'today' is probably trying to pull a fast one. 2) I don't know how to cost such items, it's not my line of work. However, you should get at least three (3) estimates on the job, with each estimate being very complete concerning details about what is to be done, what materials are to be used, and any warranty information. 3) very important! Make sure you are dealing with a licensed contractor.
