The Enix Corporation (株式会社エニックス, Kabushiki-gaisha Enikkusu) was a Japanese company that produced video games, anime and manga. The company was founded by Yasuhiro Fukushima on September 22, 1975 as Eidansha Boshu Service Center (株式会社営団社募集サービスセンター, Kabushiki Gaisha Eidansha Boshū Sābisu Sentā) and renamed Enix in 1982. The name is a play on the words "phoenix", a mythical bird that is reborn from its own ashes, and "ENIAC", the world's first digital computer. Enix is perhaps best known for publishing the Dragon Quest series of console role-playing games. The company merged with Square Co. in 2003 to become Square Enix. From Wikipedia under the

Q. I was wondering if anyone knows if square-enix is planning to make any of the other games into movies like ffv did with advent children. Is there any word at all? I would love to see FFVII or FFX made into a movie. Asked by TT - Sat Aug 8 23:26:28 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. I have to agree with King J. They need to get with it on FF13 and FF13Vs. so I would think they are up to their heads with work at the moment. BTW did you see the CGI movie they made a while back "the spirits within"? That was alright and the graphics were not too shabby. I think the only reason they made the FF7 movie was because it was such a huge success everywhere. I really can't see another game being made into a movie as the only one that would be good (FFX) is already a movie in itself. Answered by unknown - Sat Aug 8 23:42:09 2009 Is there a difference between Square Soft and Square Enix or are they the same thing? Q. I'm really into the Final Fantasy video game series and games like that. I've recently noticed that up untill about 2003, the games were being produced by a company called Square Soft. But I've noticed that the games that have been produced thereafter are by a company called Square Enix. Was Square Enix once Square Soft or are they completely unrelated?
