Answered by ? - Mon Mar 8 23:59:00 2010 How do you remove a heater core for a 1979 Ford F150 (no A/C) ? Q. Ok. I had no heat. So, my first guess was that the heater core was clogged up. I pulled the inlet & outlet hoses and blew some air through the heater core. I refilled the lost coolant. Started her up. Problem solved. I got heat. But, when I took a look at the firewall side, I discovered a squirting leak coming out of one metal line. Dang! I must have broken its weld/solder when I yanked on the hose. How do I get to that thing. Please don't tell me I have to tear the dash apart. [gettin' ready to scream] Asked by nobody - Sat Nov 24 16:44:39 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. If I remember correctly there are 4 nuts you have to remove on the firewall --- out under the hood. I think a 7/16 wrench does it. unhook heater cables etc.I used to mess with these trucks a lot. the whole heater box comes out from under the dash. it's not too bad . just be carefull putting it back in so you don't break the new core where the hoses go. a extra pair of hands is helpfull. Answered by stumped - Sat Nov 24 17:22:15 2007 I am not a native Eng speaker. Who can tell me the meaning difference between solder and weld?
Q. thanks Asked by hunt@web - Wed Mar 22 13:56:32 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Soldering is when you heat a base material expand the surface atoms and introduce a substance [solder] that will mesh between the two. When this cools the base material will shrink around the solder and the two material will be bound to each other. Welding is when you heat two pieces of material to their melting point and the materials essentialy "mix" together. When they cool, you have essentialy one peice of material.
