I am working on redoing some parts of my basement, the home is 80 years old and will never have the finished basement just due to factors like height, size and usability, They had drywall attached right to the block wall, i have removed this gridded the walls down, patched any bad areas with hydraulic cement, and put one coat of primer using "Zinsser bulls eye high hide odorless primer sealer" now i have put one coat of Behr Hydrostatic paint, and plan on giving it one more. I dont have the room to build out a wall since most of it is along where the stairs come down to the basement, so now i plan on 1. Attaching Cement board directly to the wall 2.
