A consultant (from the Latin consultare means "to discuss" from which we also derive words such as consul and counsel) is a professional who provides advice in a particular area of expertise such as management, accountancy, the environment, entertainment, technology, law (tax law, in particular), human resources, marketing, emergency management, food production, medicine, finance, life management, economics, public affairs, communication, engineering, sound system design, graphic design, or waste management. A consultant is usually an expert or a professional in a specific field and has a wide knowledge of the subject matter. A consultant usually works for a consultancy firm or is self-employed, and engages with multiple and changing clients. Thus, clients have access to deeper levels of expertise than would be feasible for them to retain in-house, and may purchase only as much service from the outside consultant as desired. 'Consultant' is also the term used to denote the most senior medical position in the United Kingdom, Australia and Ireland (e.g., a consultant surgeon). From Wikipedia under the

My wife is a new Mary Kay consultant and I am a retired I.T. Consultant. I have written a database to help her manage her clients, contacts, appointments, sales, inventory, etc. It is designed for a person starting out. I would like to make this database available to other consultants but I do not know how to get the info out. There is no advertising in the Applause magazine. Any ideas? I am offering it as 'shareware'. Free. But if you like it then please contribute to its support and maintenance. Thanks for the help. Asked by Craig - Sat Apr 14 00:01:36 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Spread the word about it on some of the Mary Kay support (as in Mary Kay probably is a good thing) lists: Mary_Kay_Tools@yahoogroup s.com PinkBeGone@yahoogroups.co m are two possibilities. There are a couple of pro-Mary Kay blogs that might be willing to mention your program --- if The Pink Truth Blog hasn't revealed anything that their upline hasn't told them, or written something which otherwise irks them. If you are very brave, (foolhardy might be a better description), you can try mentioning it on pinktruth.com. [The Pink Truth Blog). Answered by jblake80856 - Sat Apr 14 06:31:09 2007 Do recruitment consultants really need you to come down and register? Whats the best thing to say to them?
Q. You know the story, you apply for a job and get a phone call from a recruitment consultant asking you to come in and register. You then go in and they don't mention the job at all, does everyone else get this. Whats the best way to decline but still get them to find work for you? Is it worth the effort of having to go in to get in with them or not? Any consultants opinion? Asked by Hally - Mon Feb 25 11:57:44 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. I had that happen to me more times than I care to recall. They place ads in the paper to "hook" resumes, then call everybody in for skills testing to get you signed up. The excuse they give you, if you ask about the job they advertised, is "well, you don't as much education as they want." or "well, they really wanted someone with more experience in the "___" field, but we have some other jobs coming in daily that I would love to submit your resume for." I doubt that most of the ads placed are bogus. As far as them getting you jobs or interviews, that won't happen unless you go in and meet with the recruiter. They will skill test you to make sure that you have the computer experience, typing speed, accounting knowledge or what ever field… [cont.] Answered by hr4me - Mon Feb 25 13:20:22 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Consultants" About Financial Planning
